After reading the article in a recent post "Has the Facebook Bubble Burst?" I decided to do some investigation of my own. Is Facebook really in decline? I mean everyone I know has a Facebook account and most are addicts!
The article says there is a drop in traffic between December to January... Doesn't one find it misleading to report on a monthly drop as an indicator of the site's long-term growth? If there is continued decrease over several months then maybe this would be a more valid indicator. Also the figures used have been refuted by Facebook and it has also been noted that company NewsCorp which reported the drop in traffic also partly owns the social network MySpace... hmm
Also its noted that "Worldwide, Facebook is still doing fine. It grew 3 percent in January over December, attracting 100.7 million unique visitors."(Global Thoughts; Social Media 2008, <http://socialmedia.globalthoughtz.com/facebook-growth-slowing-down/>)
Don't believe me read it for yourself...
