Flagrant self-promotion: LTC-co-produced video game teaches students to evaluate sources

Yes, we’re pretty proud of this one.

BCIT’s Update blog reports the launch of the LTC co-produced Web Evaluation Video Game, which you can play online here. In this game, students are required to use objective criteria to evaluate the integrity of websites — and play a series of games in the process. By playing the game, students will be better able to evaluate the websites they use in their research and study. The game was produced by small development team involving members of BCIT’s Learning & Teaching Centre and the BCIT Library. (Members of the development team include: Michelle Kearns, project lead; Edwin Rowan, programming; Melanie Sia, graphics; Paul Razzell, writing; Lin Brander, subject expert; Lindsay Belloc, special effects; and Chris Cambon, sound.)

So go ahead and play the game. It’s educational!
